Children’s Art School
The Door to Art Exhibition tells visitors about the School today. Work by its students has been displayed in many countries around the world, at prestigious exhibitions, gracing events of the highest caliber. These included the 1000 Years of Baptism of the Rus exhibition at the USSR Academy of Arts, the Russian Museum Centennial exhibition, the Thou Shalt Not Kill international exhibition of children’s portraits dedicated to the Beslan tragedy which was on display in Veliky Novgorod, New York City, and Helsinki. The School’s students’ art has represented Russia at Olympic exhibitions in Athens and Beijing. The recent Hanseatic Days and celebration of 1150 years of Veliky Novgorod, among other events, were memorable to locals and visitors alike by the Great Hanseatic Voyage and Assets of the Russian State art shows.
Local residents have fond memories of the excellent joint projects of the school and the regional TV: My City Is My History and Drawing War.
The exhibition includes more than 200 paintings, drawings, and applied art objects created in recent years. In a way, this is a gift for past years’ graduates from the School’s current students. The exhibition will showcase the traditional areas of the Novgorod Children’s Art School, as well as introducing some new trends and art forms. Stained glass made according to Tiffany technique during the annual summer school in Finland, Scotch tape sculptures, unexpected composition themese and much else will find their way to everybody’s hearts.
The School’s instructors will teach master classes in ceramics, scotch tape sculpture and modern watercolors techniques.
